It's Sammy Kaye's great 1957 Columbia Records LP, I Want To Wish You A Merry Christmas. In my Top 500 of the greatest Christmas albums of all-time, this album resides in the 1st Tier, coming in at #44. This 1957 LP was actually an expanded 12" version of an earlier 10" LP that had been recorded by the legendary bandleader in 1951 and released by Columbia Records under the name Christmas Serenade. The 1957 LP included five additional songs, including the two that I am spotlighting here: "All Around The Christmas Tree" and "Santa, Santa, Santa Claus." These two classic songs were released together as a 45-rpm single in 1952. In addition, it is these very two songs that I included in the new Fourth Hour that I created for the Yule Log telecast in 2009. Sammy Kaye was one of the elite bandleaders of the era that included the likes of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Harry James, Kay Kyser, Lawrence Welk and Guy Lombardo. Sammy's famous moniker was "Swing and Sway with Sammy Kaye." And now it's time to do just that... Enjoy!
