That's correct, Michael. Eddie Dunstedter's "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" was indeed used as the musical bed for the classic Yule Log station breaks that featured WPIX staff announcer Ralph Lowenstein. In addition, Eddie's version of "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" was also featured in Hour 3 of the broadcast itself, song #68. The source of the music, Eddie's 1959 album The Bells Of Christmas, resides in the "Bubbling Under" section of my Top 500, coming in at #381.

Amazon was offering the album as a CD-R for a short period of time, but is now showing it as "currently unavailable." I'm glad I got it when I did.

BTW,that track by Dunstedter,is still there on You Tube,I've just noticed!

It's on a Various Artists CD titled  "A Merry Christmas".

Both of Dunstedter's albums,Full ones,are also on You Tube.
