I am so excited that it is only 2 weeks from today that Christmas will be here.  I can't wait, and then of course watching The Yule Log will make it even more special.  It is hard to believe that a year has gone by already and I am starting to feel like a child again anticipating Santa Claus' arrival.
This is such an exciting time for me.  I feel so giddy, it is so incredible.  Even though there won't be much under the tree being it is just myself and my little dog Lilly, it is just so exciting and I have that childlike faith all over again.

As soon as it becomes December 26th. I start the countdown clock for next year.  I am such a Christmas Addict, I can't help thinking about next year already.  I get this way every year and it always seem like it is the first Christmas that I can remember all over again.  I can't really describe the feeling I get, but it is wonderful.

Christmas Always,

You have captured the true magic of Christmas with all the excitement of a child so beautifully that it would be difficult for me to add anything else. The only thing I would or could add in response is "have yourself a merry little Christmas..."

Thank you Anthony,
I do almost feel like a child and the innocence that the childlike faith brings back around Christmas time.  One thing I always have regretted is that I never got to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what I wanted for Christmas.  Where we lived, there weren't a lot of larger stores back then, and we basically had and and F. W. Woolworth's and a J. C. Penney store for shopping for most things for everyone.  Yes, we had the mom and pop grocery stores and the "Blue Laws" so the mom and pop grocery stores could be open on weekends and the larger stores couldn't so they would be able to get more business.  We had a few Grand Unions and a couple A&P Supermarkets, but that was about it, and we just never got a chance to go and see Santa.

Part of me would love to go and sit on his lap today, but I am too old and embarrassed lol, but there are times, when I "Have" to go to the malls that I see him and that childlike faith comes over me and I start to smile and think back about what he stands for and reminds me of what it was like to be a child again, even though I never got the chance to sit on his lap.

The Yule Log does the same thing for me, being I was able to view it on it's debut on Christmas Eve in 1966.

Susan, you ever been to the National Christmas Museum in PA? They've got a replica of a Woolworth's there full of holiday merchandise.

Just like the great Eddy Arnold Christmas song: "Christmas Can't Be Far Away".
Another place to visit is Bronners in Frankenmuth, MI - reportedly the world's largest Christmas store.
(slim on music, but ton's of decorations).
Merry Christmas everyone. Wish the local "ME-TV" would run Yule Log :(

Warlock,

I so desperately want to go to The National Christmas Museum in Paradise, PA, but it would mean an overnight stay for me and I would have to find a motel that allows dogs.  It is about an 8 hour drive one-way from me.

Then next on my list is "A Christmas Story House and Museum" in Cleveland, OH, which is about a 3 hour drive for me one-way.

And finally Bronner's in Frankenmuth, MI.  I have heard that you could visit the store the entire time they are open 7 days a week and still not see everything they have.  I do get their catalogs, and someone from another Christmas Group I belong to sent me a Christmas card with a small ornament from Bronner's this year.  I also have A "Frank E. Post" The Singing Lamppost that I had originally bought fro K-Mart on their After Christmas Sale for 1/2 price, but a year or 2 later I had to sell it on eBay because I didn't have any money for Christmas presents for my family and I sold several other things too.

Then about 4 years ago, I was at an AmVets Thrift Store during I think Veteran's Day and they had everything in the store at 50% off, and I had found 1 or 2 Christmas Albums that I didn't have in my collection, but I didn't want to wait in line for over an hour to pay $1.00 for 2 Vinyl Records, so I put them back and as I was leaving, I saw a "Frank E. Post" box, and I looked through it and it was complete, including the plastic it was sealed in inside the box, and it was $4.85, but at 50% off at $2.43, I decided to wait in line, but didn't go back for the 2 record albums because the line was getting longer by the second.  It took me an hour and 15 minutes to get to the register, and more importantly, this still had the original price sticker on it and then the orange and black paid strip from Bronner's.  So someone had purchased it from Bronner's and later donated it to the thrift store, so now I have two things that actually came from Bronner's Store, even though I haven't been there yet.  He still works perfectly too.  Do Be Do Be Do

Hi Susan, My wife and I have gone to Frankenmuth every year since 2010! The whole town is fantastic! All done in a Bavarian style. Lots of shops and good German food! Bronner's is beyond belief! The catalog hardly represents all the merchandise they have! It is pricey! I did a tree for my brother in a patriotic theme and just a few ornaments , lights and garland cost be almost $ 60.00. We always go right before Thanksgiving. That way the decorations are always out and you avoid the HUGE crowds that are there for the Christmas season!

Thank you Ray,
I do still plan on going there one day, and I hope sooner than later, but when you live alone, and have a pet, it is hard, but it is definitely on my list of places to visit before I leave this world.  I would also like to go to Santa Claus Indiana.

Another place I wanted to visit was Branson, MO to see Andy Williams in person, but alas, that can never happen now

I hope your Christmas was nice Susan! When we visit Frankenmuth, MI., we do not take our dog but may start! My son is moving out to start his career is a police officer in VA Beach. But where we stay; The Drury Inn, does allow pets. I have hear the doggies bark! It's a little pricey but actually a good value right in Frankenmuth. You can also eat a free breakfast and dinner (kick back time) there to cut the price down. I don't know if they charge extra for pets.

Ray,
That is a beautiful picture, thank you for sharing it with us. I hope if I ever do make it there to be able to take a lot of pictures myself.

Now we should change the subject of this topic to  "It's hard to believe that Christmas is only 364 days from now"

You know you're addicted to Christmas when you start counting down the days right after Christmas has arrived.
