Merry Christmas to all, wherever you are!  I moved to Myrtle Beach, SC from NJ about three years ago.  I know Antenna TV carries the national broadcast of The Yule Log but my TV provider doesn't carry Antenna TV.  I watch the Log on YouTube.  It might be from a few years ago but it's better than nothing.  It seems like everyone outside the PIX11 viewing area carries The Yule Log at different hours, sometimes overnite on Christmas Eve or very early Christmas morning.  At least with YouTube, I can enjoy it whenever I want.

Once again, a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2025!

Thank you for all you do, Chip.

I'll be waking up at 5AM tomorrow to enjoy all 5 hours. The older I get, the more I enjoy it. Those old, classic songs just hit you differently.

I'm HOPING Antenna won't cut to their regular programming during the Halleluiah chorus like they did last year (jarring! LOL), but they probably will.

*Sigh* Welp, they did it again. Cut it off right in the middle of the Halleluiah chorus. LOL

I do love the 4th and 5th hours though. They fit seamlessly. I especially love the instrumental "Childrens' Christmas Dream". That BASS! Just makes the song.

Kitty Wells' "Old Kris Kringle" is now a stone cold classic in my mind. A bittersweet melody with a touch of humor. Other artists have built careers on that.

Sorry to hear that your local Antenna TV affiliate in Connecticut butchered the end of my 5th hour. The Antenna TV broadcast here in New York aired flawlessly, as it always does. Unfortunately, the affiliates around the country can do whatever they want with the broadcast. Some even insert commercials. It's infuriating. Let me know who your local affiliate is.

Hi Chip. My Antenna affiliate doesn't have call letters, but it's channel 938 on Xfinity cable here in Connecticut. Let me know if any additional info is needed.

They also put in 2 rounds of commercials in the 1st hour....about 5 minutes apart. After that it was commercial free until they ended in the middle of the Halleluiah chorus.

Thank you again for all you do. Here's to a 6th hour for the 60th!

Re:2024 Yule Log Broadcast Schedule (National Coverage)

I did noticed a couple "glitches" during the live broadcast.  At the beginning there was a slight hiccup in "Noel" by Fred Waring and The Pennsylvanians and there were a couple others later in the broadcast, as if the music skipped a second or two.

I remember a few years ago when Chip had worked so hard with restoring the original 3 horus and when it was broadcast he heard a glitch and ran into the living room and bumped his head.  It migh have been when he added the 4th hour or the 5th, I can't remember for sure.  I know that Chip is a perfectionist when it comes to music, especially with having pristine albums.  With his help, I was able to replace several of my Christmas albums with Original Releases and in some cases, I have both MONO and Stereo releases. i.e. with Percy Faith's "Music Of Christmas", I have original MONO 1954 Release CL588 which shows Santa Claus with his beard off his face and holding a little girl who is sleeping.  I am not 100% sure, but I believe it is actually Percy Faith.  Chip would know for sure

I have the original 1958 Stereo Re-recorded Release  6-Eye CS8176.  MONO CL1381 These both are the Yellow jacket with Pointsettias on it. I may still have reissues that Columbia came out with in later years.

I have YouTube TV and they don't carry any of the sub-channels of the locals.  The local OTA channels are difficult to pick up in my area as there is a mountain between us and the transmitter so I can't pick them up with an antenna.  The only local I am able to pick up is PBS and their 3 to 5 sub-channels as there is a clear line of sight to them.

Digital TV is so frustrating when trying to pick up and lock on to their frequency.  When it was Analog, I could use a set top antenna (Rabbit Ears) and pick up all of our locals and even a few Canadian ones  But with Digital, just being near the antenna interferes with the signal. and the strength of the signal from the transmitter is much lower then when they were Analog.

The cover of the original 1954 mono Music of Christmas LP has a rendering of a father dressed as Santa Claus holding his sleeping daughter. It was re-recorded in stereo 1959, not 1958. Percy’s Hallelujah was actually released in 1958.

Thank you Chip,  I didn't notice the typo on the year for the stereo release.  I thought I typed 1959.
