Chip,
I may have asked this before, but, has the Original 1966 Broadcast of The Yule Log, soundtrack  been identified, and the order the songs were played?  If memory serves, there were a lot more songs by the some of the artists, and I believe there was at least one song from Andy Williams.

Obviously, "Christmas Is Christmas" by The Singing Angels wouldn't have been in this broadcast.

I am trying to compile the list so I can add it to the 1966 footage of the 1-hour broadcast to make my own DVD.   Thanks.

No, we have never been able to find the complete soundtrack for the 1966 Yule Log premiere.
However, some of the songs that aired on the show that year were "Christmas Carousel" by Peggy Lee, "Winter Wonderland" by The Living Voices and "Do You Hear What I Hear" by the Regency Choir. Skitch Henderson also appeared on the 1966 broadcast as well.

As for Andy Williams, his first known appearance on the Yule Log was in 1968, with his rendition of "Do You Hear What I Hear." Andy also appeared on the 1972 broadcast with his rendition of "Silent Night."

Thanks Chip,
I appreciate it.  It would be nice to have the full song listing though.  I would doubt that there would be any information in WPIX's archives from their WPIX FM Broadcasts.

i would also be very interested in this playlist. Years ago, my father had an old audio recording of the Yule Log on reel to reel. The only thing I could remember was that the first song was still Percy Faith's "Joy to the World", but the 2nd song was not The Pennsylvanian's "A Musical Christmas Card".

Rich,

The second song in the Yule Log broadcast was always performed by Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians; however, from 1966 to 1972 the song was actually "Christmas Magic."

It was beginning with the definitive and classic version of the soundtrack that was settled upon in 1973 that the song was switched to the far superior "A Musical Christmas Card."
