A new release on CD this year from Jasmine Records that contains the following two albums in Chip's top 500:

The Four Aces - A Merry Christmas #100 (First Tier) containing two bonus tracks

The Three Suns
- The Sounds of Christmas #159 (Second Tier)

The songs on both of these albums are on the CD in the same order that they appear on the original LP releases.  Nice.

The original album art is not as nice.  It appears to be a collage with the correct album art from the Four Aces LP, but it uses a second release of the album art for the Three Suns LP.  Anthony may like their choice though.

Amazon description:

The Sounds Of Christmas - Rare Holiday Gems" is largely comprised of two classic, best selling Christmas albums by Four Aces (with bonus tracks) and The Three Suns. For the very first time, the Christmas Singles by Roy Rogers & Dale Evans and Freddie Martin & Merv Griffin are presented together within one set. Other rare gems include tracks by Johnny Desmond, Margaret Whiting, Eddy Howard, Fran Allison (of 'Kukla, Fran & Ollie), Jill Corey, Guy Lombardo, Mindy Carson, Dorothy Olsen and The Merrill Staton Choir. Many of these singles have long been unavailable and appear alongside traditional sacred and secular songs all in pristine fidelity. This collection with enhance the Christmas celebration.

Available from Amazon here and Jasmine Records here.

I learned about this release several weeks ago and was seriously displeased. I'm hoping that these LPs by The Four Aces and The Three Suns will eventually get a proper domestic CD release here in the U.S.

Perhaps then, they will be properly reissued as standalone albums with their complete respective original artworks. It's a shame that it took a foreign label to finally release these two American Christmas LPs on CD.

I just picked this up recently.  The Three Suns tracks sound like a needledrop (albeit a fairly good one).  I suspect The Four Aces tracks are as well.  But it is a good collection of music and I'm enjoying it a lot.
