Date Posted:11/05/2018 12:36:19Copy HTML I made my own Christmas Fireplace out of boxes and styrofoam panels. I tried inserting the images, but get some sort of error at the top of the screen in Japanese characters. I can't upload them the way we used to, but sent them to Aimoo but using the attach icon. I guess you will have to click on each link to view the images. If anyone has a solution, please let me know and I will edit this post to make the pictures visible. Thanks. The first picture is the basic layout and the boxes are not all the same size. Next is after i added the styrofoam panels Next is when I started to duct tape it to cover the seams and to have a base for painting. Next is when I started painting over the tape, but the red paint wouldn't stick. The black paint did stick just fine. Next is after I removed the rest of the duct tape and painted in the red. The next moring, the paint made the styrofoam pull away from the boxes and I had to try and retack some of the edges with more hot glue sticks. Next is before I touched up some of the paint when I added the outlines of the brick. Next is is basically finished. But I want to try and do some sort of flames. Maybe do a cutout in the shape of flames and logs, then add colored cellophane behind the flames and then use some of those double filament C7 light bulbs so it looks like flickering.

Re:Homemade Christmas Fireplace Date Posted:11/05/2018 03:24:12Copy HTML Great ingenuity, Susan. Post a follow-up pic after you light it up. As far as displaying images in your post is concerned; all you should have to do is click the above Multi Image icon (to the left of the Smiley icon), and then search for the image on your hard drive that you want to embed in your post. |

Re:Homemade Christmas Fireplace Date Posted:11/05/2018 06:00:53Copy HTML Chip, When I try that, I get these Japanese characters so I don''t know what the problem is 还有1个未上传文件 I thought that is might possibly be the size of the imagesd in bytes, not inches, so I tried a very small picture and still get the same thing. |

Re:Homemade Christmas Fireplace Date Posted:11/08/2018 05:35:42Copy HTML Hi Susan, I'm impressed by your creativity in creating that fireplace. I'm going see if I can upload a random image from my computer.... Didn't work. Got this message: 还有1个未上传文件
According to Google translate, it's Chinese and means: "There is also 1 unuploaded file." Will in Seattle

Re:Homemade Christmas Fireplace Date Posted:12/26/2018 01:41:18Copy HTML You're welcome. I started collecting boxes around June/July. It was hard to get them the same size, but finally in October, i got it pretty much how I wanted, and then started painting it. Christmas Isn't Just A Day In December, It's A Way Of Life.

Re:Homemade Christmas Fireplace Date Posted:12/26/2018 09:02:05Copy HTML Terrific, Susan. And at least the way that you had it (flameless), Santa didn't get burned going down your chimney. Lawrence F. "Chip" Arcuri
