This is an exclusive news flash on the Yule Log.com Message Board:

Great News!! Norma Camby (daughter of the late, great conductor Johnny Douglas) has just informed me that her record company, Dulcima Records, will be releasing the three Christmas albums that her father did with The Living Strings and Living Voices!

The three LPs are The Spirit Of Christmas (1963), White Christmas (1968), and A Christmas Songbook (1974).

The tentative plan is to release the three LPs as a double CD, with The Spirit Of Christmas on disc 1 and White Christmas and A Christmas Songbook on disc 2. The anticipated release date is mid October 2009.

Finally, after all these years, it's really going to happen.

As we get closer to the release date, I'll be posting further updates on this thread. So if you'd like to stay informed of the latest developments, please take advantage of the newly added Subscribing feature on the message board: just click the blue pushpin () located in the upper right-hand portion of this post and you'll be instantly subscribed to this thread and receive email notifications when there is a new post added!

Hi Chip and all,

This sure is GREAT news.  I had heard rumblings about such a release but now I know that it's true!!  Last year we had The Hollyridge Strings Christmas Favorites released on CD and now we are getting 3 from the Living Strings/Voices.  Now...if we can only get Capitol or some other company to release the 2 David Rose Christmas albums on CD!!!

Let's keep contacting these record company executives to ensure that all of our favorite Christmas LPs are released on CD...one by one!!!

This is FANTASTIC!  Last year around this time I feel like we had already gotten word of the Hollyridge Strings and Doris Day releases that were due for 2008.  I was beginning to fear that we wouldn't have any major releases to look forward to for 2009.

It will be very nice to have "The Spirit of Christmas" and "A Christmas Songbook" released legitimately on CD.  And hopefully this release will correct the mastering glitch that appears during "Bossa Nova Noel" on the Canadian CD release of "White Christmas."

Kudos to Norma Camby for moving forward with this release!

Snow Miser,   Collector's Choice released "The Hollyridge Strings" last year; perhaps they'll release a two-for of "Little Drummer Boy- David Rose & Living Voices"- this year. Let's hope.

I hope they use the original LP artwork SOMEWHERE in the packaging. They are simply timeless. I'd hate to see something thrown together on the fly with garish colors and un-Christmassy fonts.
Peace,

Don:

No worriesNorma will use the same care, quality and expertise in the remastering of these three Christmas LPs as she has already done for her father's other LPs that her record company has previously reissued.

By the way, congratulations on your first post; you're one of our longtime members, but you've been a silent one -- nice to finally hear from you!

Snowy:

Yes, the David Rose LPs are long overdue to be reissued on CD. I suggested it to Gordon Anderson at Collector's Choice Music last year; perhaps if others contact him, he will be persuaded: Gordon Anderson/Collector's Choice Music: [email protected].

Brian:

I already notified Norma Camby about the glitch on the Canadian CD release of White Christmas. Now we will finally find out if this defect was unique to the Canadian CD, or if (heaven forbid) the master itself is damaged. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's the former and not the latter. I'll keep everyone posted.

Frank

If you haven't already, let Gordon Anderson know how you feel[email protected]

Together, we can make a difference!

Peter:

Done deal. The original LP artwork for The Spirit Of Christmas will be used for the CD cover.

Since you really can't put three LP artworks on one CD cover, the decision was to go with the crown jewel in this series, The Spirit Of Christmas.

Regarding the skip in the Bossa Nova Noel track from the White Christmas Canadian release...a friend of mine who is a audio restoration pro fixed that track for me...no skip, sounds great.  I have the mp3...if anyone is interested, let me know.

Good news! It has been determined that the problem was with the production of the RCA/Camden Canadian CD.

Norma Camby has assured me that their new Dulcima CD release of White Christmas will be glitch free!

It'll be great to have these three chestnuts available this season.  I'll be looking forward to it!  BTW, will they be available through CCM or will we have to go to Amazon.com or perhaps Tower.com?

Great News! My only question would be where this leaves "The Sound of Christmas", one of my personal favorites.   Any specific reason it has been left out of the mix for this year's release?  Or can we look forward to a cd version in 2010?  Thanks!

Re:3 Living Strings & Living Voices LPs to be released on CD!

First of all, welcome to the message board Justin, nice to have you here.

Second: The Living Strings 1970 LP The Sound Of Christmas is one of the albums that I included in my list to Gordon Anderson last year. I don't know how many other folks followed my lead and included it on their list as well, but it couldn't have been many as this album is ripe for the picking; it's a perfect candidate for reissue by Collectors' Choice Music for the simple reason that RCA is more than willing to lease out the rights to print this LP as evidenced by the success Norma Camby at Dulcima Records has had in garnering the release rights to her late father's Christmas LPs with the Living Strings and Living Voices.

Please send an email to Gordon Anderson and let him know you would like to see this LP released on CD. I can't stress enough how important it is for folks to make their voices heard, especially at this critical juncture -- the time of the year when CCM is considering its new releases for the upcoming Christmas season.

By the way, the reason why Norma isn't releasing The Sound Of Christmas is because it was not one of the albums her father (Johnny Douglas) did with the Living Strings: the album was conducted by Geraldo and it was arranged by both Geraldo and Bernard Ebbinghouse. Geraldo was the 3rd most prolific conductor/arranger for the Living Strings, after Johnny Douglas and Hill Bowen who were the 1st and 2nd most prolific respectively.

Although not as good an album as The Spirit Of Christmas by Johnny Douglas, The Sound Of Christmas by Geraldo is still a great LP and deservedly resides in the 1st Tier of my Top Play (albums 1-125 in my collection).

Thanks for the info Chip.  I figured there was a reason "Sound" wasn't included with the other three, just didn't know it.  I will certainly email Mr. Anderson at CCM concerning this LP, but was wondering if you had similar contacts at other record companies such as DRG, Taragon, Dutton Vocalion, etc. I would love to see christmas albums from Geoff Love and Frank Chacksfield released on cd, but find it hard to believe CCM would consider releasing these albums..

Hello Chip,

This is great news!!! It's even greater news that Ms. Camby has a clean, glitch-free master of White Christmas to work with. Many thanks to you Chip for getting this started and for your usual attention to detail and follow-up!!!

And to all those who followed through and sent emails voicing your opinions - many thanks and congrats to you as well!!!

Justin,

Frank Chacksfield's Christmas LP is another one of the albums that I had included on my list to Gordon Anderson last year for re-release by Collectors' Choice Music. Thanks for mentioning it; however, you're skepticism about the chances of CCM releasing the LP is completely unwarranted, as it is yet another perfect candidate for reissue on CD. The album was originally released on Richmond Records, which is a subsidiary of London Records -- and London is the same label as the Mantovani LPs that Gordon is already considering. In addition to this, CCM is already a champion of Frank Chacksfield's music. They carry a full line CD reissues by him -- most of them imports: http://search.ccmusic.com/search?w=frank+chacksfield. So please don't hesitate to include this LP on your list to Gordon when you email it to him.

As far as other companies to solicit for LP reissues on CD, the best one to contact is probably Collectables Records in Narberth, Pa. They, along with Collectors' Choice Music, release the most LP reissues on CD. You can contact an A&R executive I know there, Mike Stefanic. His email address is [email protected]

I got to know Mike during the years when Collectables Records was releasing the Percy Faith library on CD. In fact, when Collectables mistakenly thought that they had exhausted everything that was available to them from Sony Music to reissue, I pointed out one album they had missed: Percy Faith's 1971 LP, I Think I Love You. After I brought this to Mike's attention, he contacted Dan Rivard at Sony Music, and because of my tip, Sony packaged the LP with 7 bonus tracks and Collectables released it on November 9 2004: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6790297 Collectables Records had generally been releasing Percy's albums as double CDs (two LPs on one CD), but since they had exhausted everything in the Faith library, Sony creatively found some previously unreleased material that they could package the LP with, and by virtue of this, in the end, the bonus material almost made it double CD length.

Needless to say, I am very proud of my role in getting this LP released, and it again underscores my point that I've made so many times before about the difference we can make by making our voices heard.

Re:3 Living Strings & Living Voices LPs to be released on CD!

Date Posted:07/28/2009 04:29:40Copy HTML

I emailed Collector's Choice this morning and made the following suggestions for release on CD:

Andre Kostelanetz - Wonderland of Christmas
Frank DeVol - The Old Sweet Songs of Christmas
Mantovani - Christmas Carols
David Rose - The David Rose Christmas Album
Living Voices - The Living Voices Sing Christmas Music
Living Voices - The Little Drummer Boy
Living Trio - I'll Be Home for Christmas
Living Guitars - The Joy of Christmas
Living Strings - The Sound of Christmas

The "Living..." albums in particular seem to be great candidates in my opinion for the 2-fer releases that the reissue companies sometimes like to do.  Both Living Voices albums on one CD, the Living Trio and Living Guitars on one CD, etc.

I'll also send my list to the contact Chip mentioned at Collectables.  And as always, I plan to contact Sony BMG directly regarding a reissue of Percy Faith's "The Music of Christmas, Volume 2" on CD...

Are there any specific contacts you know of at DRG, Chip?  They've come out with some nice Christmas reissues in the past few years as well.

Finally - one more thought about Norma Camby's upcoming 3-LP on 2-CDs release.  There are two songs that would serve nicely as "bonus tracks" for this CD - "Flying Home for Christmas" and "Christmas Eve in My Hometown," which were recorded in the late 70s for "The Most Beautiful Sounds of Christmas" Living Strings and Living Voices compilation LP.  That way, all of Johnny Douglas' "Living..." Christmas work would be represented on the one CD release.

Excellent choices, Brian.

Since the Living Trio and the Living Guitars are in the 2nd Tier of my collection, they are not as high a priority for me; but they are great albums nonetheless and most worthy of reissue. I’m glad that you included them on your list.

As for a contact at DRG, you can send your list directly to Hugh Fordin. He is the president of DRG Records. His email address (which you will only find here) is [email protected]. **By the way, a Yule Log.com Message Board exclusive: Hugh told me yesterday that DRG will be releasing Wayne Newton’s 1966 LP Songs For A Merry Christmas on CD this year; it will be available for purchase on October 15th. Even though I am not by any means a fan of this album, I’m sure there will be a lot of happy Wayne Newton fans out there.

And yes, that would be an excellent idea to add Christmas Eve In My Hometown and Flying Home For Christmas as bonus tracks to the new Dulcima Records CD. And by the way, Johnny Douglas recorded these two songs on July 11, 1977 for a 45-rpm single (catalog #PB-11155) that RCA released later that year. Side A of the single was Christmas Eve In My Hometown and Side B was Flying Home For Christmas. Then, the next year, in 1978, RCA included both songs on the compilation LP The Most Beautiful Sounds Of Christmas. I’ll post an update on this thread as soon as I hear back from Norma as to whether this can be done.

Re:3 Living Strings & Living Voices LPs to be released on CD!

Date Posted:07/30/2009 06:59:37Copy HTML

I spoke with Norma Camby on the phone today and she said that unfortunately it was too late to add the two tracks, Christmas Eve In My Hometown and Flying Home For Christmas, to the new double CD they will be releasing later this year. She went on to say that she was “gutted” (a word used in the U.K. to express disappointment) by this because she had absolutely no knowledge of the existence of these two songs and the 1977 single they were released on. She did say that perhaps next year they could repackage the CD with the two songs as bonus tracks (if, of course, RCA can find the masters in their vault). I told her all this was my fault and I apologized for not mentioning the songs to her last September when I first suggested that they reissue the LP, A Christmas Songbook, on CD. These two songs tend to be forgotten because their only release on LP was on the 1978 compilation album The Most Beautiful Sounds Of Christmas. She also said that she was always under the impression that the tracks on the 1978 compilation LP had all been previously released on her father’s regular Christmas LPs, so at home they never kept a copy of this album around. Since she thought it was only a compilation, she never looked that closely at the album jacket. If she had, she would have realized that these two tracks were original songs not previously released on any previous Living Strings/Living Voices LP.

Nevertheless, again I must stress, that in the final analysis, this is my fault and I accept full responsibility. As the advocate, defender and promoter of classic Christmas music, it was my job to have brought this to her attention. I should have thought of it last year or, at the very least, earlier this year, when there was still time to add them to the CD. If I had, thousands of folks would have been able to enjoy these two great songs. I’m angry with myself for dropping the ball on this one and echo Norma’s feelings of being “gutted” by this.

By the way, Norma asked me if Ethel Gabriel (the legendary RCA producer who created the Living Strings and produced the “Living” series of albums) was still alive here in the United States. She was concerned because the last time they spoke with each other was Christmas 2007. Then, a few weeks ago, the letter she sent to her announcing that Dulcima was releasing three of the Living Strings/Living Voices Christmas LPs came back to her in the mail because the address was no longer valid. (For those of you who are not familiar with Ethel Gabriel, she was the first woman record producer in the American record industry. In her 40-year career with RCA, she won 6 Grammy Awards and produced 15 Gold Records for a variety of leading artists, including Elvis Presley.) I told her that as far as I know, she is still alive and living in the Poconos. Sadly, however, in January 2007, because of money problems she was having, she had to sell some of her record memorabilia at an auction that was held near her home in Mount Bethel, Pa. I feel so bad when I hear things like this: people whose work gave us so much pleasure and who now find themselves in dire straits. By the way, among the items auctioned off were one of her Grammy Awards and several of her Gold Records -- including one of the Gold Records she earned with Elvis.

Speaking of Elvis, Norma told me that there are masters of Elvis Presley’s recordings that RCA has actually lost. They even lost the stereo master to one of her father’s Living Voices LPs that she wanted to lease the rights to. In the end, because of this, she had to accept the mono version. In addition, when she wanted to reissue her father’s Living Strings LPs, Where Did The Night Go and In The Still Of The Night, RCA only had one of the masters in the computer, In The Still Of The Night. The other one, Where Did The Night Go, took them 6 months to find. In fact, just to get the Living Strings/Living Voices Christmas LP masters for the upcoming CD took 7 months: she made the request in October 2008 and didn’t receive them until May 2009. She said RCA never kept a proper file, and since there were no computers back then, stuff could easily get misplaced or lost. Hard to believe, isn’t it? -- That a major record company like RCA could have such disorganized archives? But I’ll just bet it’s the same with the other record companies as well.

Thanks for checking in with her about the two songs Chip.  I had emailed her, but didn't hear anything back.

While this would have been a "nice to have" just for the sake of having all the Johnny Douglas / "Living..." Christmas recordings available in one package - I'm not quite "gutted" by the fact that they won't be included.  Fortunately they are available in digital form on "The Most Beautiful Sounds of Christmas" CD that pops up every year on auction sites and in used-CD bins.

I did not want to give her the impression that I was anything less than thrilled with the release she is planning - because I am!  However, if given the opportunity to add the songs to a future repackaging of the disc, I think it would be a fitting tribute to offer a definitive and complete collection of Johnny Douglas' Living Strings / Living Voices Christmas music.

Re:3 Living Strings & Living Voices LPs to be released on CD!

Date Posted:07/31/2009 03:00:30Copy HTML

Brian,

For those of us who have The Most Beautiful Sounds Of Christmas CD, naturally, this is not a major concern. I'm thinking rather of all those folks who not only do not have the CD, but don't even know it exists. And even if they did know it existed and wanted to buy it, new copies go for big bucks when they are auctioned off on eBay. In fact, on Amazon new copies start at about $100: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00000E67W/ref=dp_olp_1. Thankfully, though, there is a good selection of used copies that are more reasonably priced.

For Norma, it is particularly disappointing not having these two songs on the new CD because this is her father's music, and it was a golden opportunity to have all of his Christmas recordings with the Living Strings and Living Voices consolidated onto one complete CD. For me it's disappointing because part of my way of paying these great artists back for all the pleasure they have given me over the years with their music is to work toward promoting and preserving their legacies. In addition, all these folks who purchase the new CD will be deprived of some very good music as a result of these two tracks not being included, which means that these songs will continue to be forgotten. Like I said in my previous post, hopefully next year we can get the CD repackaged with the two songs added as bonus tracks.

By the way, Norma has posted the new CD on her website: http://www.dulcimarecords.com/catalogue/22/the-spirit-of-christmas/. I'm not happy that the original artwork has been altered, but overall it looks pretty good.

Hello Chip,

This is GREAT, GREAT news from Ms. Camby regarding the re-release of the 3 Christmas LPs by the Living Strings & Living Voices. Just in time for Christmas 2009!

Don't beat yourself up Chip over those two tracks. Ms. Camby shouldn't beat herself up either. It's easy to see how they could have been missed based on what you and Ms. Camby said. You work extremely hard to preserve the legacies of these great artists and I know we appreciate it. I'm sure the artists and their families appreciate it too. I know you want to get it right the first time, as I'm sure Ms. Camby does as well. The great thing is that the situation can be corrected with a repackaging in time for next Christmas. We have the option of being a little more patient for those two additional tracks. Once it's done, Ms. Camby will have her all of her father's Christmas work represented as she and we would like.

Regarding RCA's lack of organization skills - simply amazing that a company that big with recorded history of such great magnitude would not implement a system that is more organized and secure. Careless is another word. Hopefully, someone at RCA with the authority to do something about it will issue a reorganization of these masters with a system to find any track off any master at any time within hours of its request. Hopefully, they will also implement a secure system of storing these masters so this never happens again. One can only hope.

Thanks again Chip for all that you do!

Mike,

You probably didn't see it, but I posted that info on the day Norma Camby gave it to me 7 weeks ago (see the bottom of my second post of 7/30/09 on this thread).

I am currently waiting for an exact October shipping day from Norma; as soon as I get it, I'll post it here.

I am not waiting for it to be released, in fact I already ordered it from their site,  2 sets, I will give it as a gift to the one who inroduced me to The Living Voices LP. I just hope that they will release in CD the other compilation that I am accustomed to - The Most Wonderful Christmas Carols - I think this is all where they started the phrase " The Most____ etc.." In fact I also have that RCA The Most Fabulous Classical Christmas Album - which I accidentaly saw in Kuwait. I also have the EMI - The Most Beautiful Christmas Carols Ever.

But I am still hooked to The Living Strings Christmas Carols and Medleys - so sweet and simple makes me feel Christmas is really Christmas.

I will still be waiting for the release of The other compilation - The Most Wonderful Christmas Carols - I can still remember that LP Cover and the old Camden vinyl with a lot of scratch where I even put a coin on the stylus to keep it from skipping.

Thanks a lot for this Message Board I have found the Livng Voices Christmas CD as well as the Living Strings after a long years (more than 10 ) of searching and waiting.

Nestor:
Welcome to the message board; you are our first member from Australia!

If you are referring to the Living Strings/Living Voices 1978 RCA compilation LP, The Most Beautiful Sounds Of Christmas, then I can tell you that the chances of it being released again on CD is nil. The reason is simple: the two albums the songs on this compilation LP were taken from (1963's The Spirit Of Christmas and 1974's A Christmas Songbook) are being released next month on the new Dulcima Records 2-CD set. As for the 2 bonus songs on the LP (Christmas Eve In My Hometown and Flying Home For Christmas), Norma Camby (owner of Dulcima Records and daughter of the late conductor Johnny Douglas) intends to add them to the new 2-CD set next year as bonus tracks. They would have been included on the new CD this year if I had remembered to remind her about them last year when she got the masters from RCA.
Oy vey...

By the way, copies of The Most Beautiful Sounds Of Christmas CD are readily available from private vendors on Amazon, Click here.

To All:

Norma Camby told me today that the anticipated shipping date next month for the new Living Strings/Living Voices 2-CD set is October 12. So get your pre-order in now and be among the first to receive the CD when it's released! Click here.

Chip,
Yes I received my notice as well from Ms. Camby. I am very excited to listen to this CD. I am just wondering how long will it take to post to Australia. Sweet Christmas music is coming.

Yes, I am looking forward to hearing the new CD as well. I spoke to Norma yesterday and she said they have received the initial test copies of the CD and they were excellent!

For all those who possibly didn't receive it, here is an official notice that Norma sent out today regarding the new Living Strings/Living Voices CD. I was flattered she asked me if she could use my 'Chip Santa' avatar on her emails, which I was more than happy to oblige.

Based on what Norma said, you should be receiving your preorders this week. The quality of the CD is excellent, as all of Dulcima's exclusives are, and you won't be disappointed!

Here's her message:

It is with great pleasure I inform you that our new album from our Living Strings Collection ‘The Spirit of Christmas’ catalogue number DLCD 122 is released today.   Please see the attached flyer for more information.

For those customers who pre-paid, we were able to dispatch your orders last Thursday
and you should receive them shortly.  They were dispatched early to try and avoid the threatened postal strikes here in the UK.

The Spirit of Christmas

To listen to a couple of the tracks please click on the link below which takes you to the relevant page on our website.

If you would like to order your copy of ‘The Spirit of Christmas’ album, you can also do this on the link below.

Early Season Greetings to you all!

Happy Listening!

Best regards

Norma

I received my copy of the new CD today and it's everything Norma said it would be; I think her father would be very proud of her.

Way to go Norma!

Chip,
I was not expecting it that early. I was surprised to see it on my mailbox last Wednesday. Ordered 2 sets the other one as a gift to my relative who introduced me to that when I borrowed that LP.
It is superb, it brings me back memories but now I am listening on a digital format that will never gonna fade further. Nostalgia is the word- still hearing that sweet and mellow Christmas music from Living Voices with the beautiful arrangement by Johny Douglas is so relaxing.
I can listen to it th whole year never tired of listening.
Thanks to you Chip and Norma Camby for your effort. Been looking for this release every year on the internet for the past 15 years and just a stroke of luck I find this website and that is not all, the CD is due for release immediately. Just a stroke of luck.

Thanks again Chip and Norma. I kept that small note in the package from Norma - might be a collectors item later to prove its authenticity he he he.

I just received my copy today.  I had The Spirit of Christmas record when I was a kid and my grandmother had the White Christmas album, but I was unfamiliar with A Christmas Songbook.  What memories this CD set brought back--and what wonderful sound quality, particularly The Spirit of Christmas disc!  I had forgotten just how beautiful it is--one of the best instrumental albums out there!

I sure hope Norma has really good sales with this release, and I thank her for all the work she's put into it.

Glad you like the new CD, Sandy.

By the way, Norma posted my comments on the CD that I submitted to her on behalf of myself and Ethel Gabriel (the original producer of the albums). To take a look, click here, then scroll to the bottom of the page.

I received my copy of "The Spirit of Christmas" today, and all I can say is WOW!!!  The sound quality is excellent - they did a beautiful job with the remastering.  It's so nice to hear these three albums given the treatment they deserve with respect to a legitimate CD release.  I sincerely hope this project is a great success for Norma and Dulcima Records.

(On a related note - I also picked up "Where Did the Night Go," which is the other CD in Dulcima's "Living Strings Collection," and it is also wonderful).

I was a little slow out of the gate in ordering "The Spirit of Christmas" but it was well worth the wait.  I received my copy today.  Took less time to cross the "pond" than sending a letter across town.  The personal note was a pleasant surprise.  Early Christmas greetings to you also Ms. Camby.
Thank you to everyone involved with this reissue.  A job well done.

I don't know why I dragged my feet for so long, but I ordered 2 copies from Amazon UK this evening.  The scheduled ship date is between the 24th and the 30th.

Sometimes, I'm patient.   ;-)

I also received the new 2 CD Living Strings collection.  Excellent collection, only one minor issue I found.  Did anyone else notice that on the first disc "Spirit of Christmas" that the stereo channels are reversed?

I have compared the new CD to 3 previous versions of the album on LP, Cassette and Reel tape.  All of the previous issues start the album with the sleighbells on the left, channel slowly moving to the right.  But on the new CD it is the opposite.  I don't know if this issue affects the other 2 albums on the 2nd disc since I have never owned them before.  Please check your albums and let us know!  Thanks!

This is a fantastic collection, no doubt!

Unfortunately, there are sellers on Ebay taking advantage of the fact that the release isn't widely publicized.  I've seen copies go for $80.  People are just ripping off folks who don't know they can get it from Dulcima....

I've seen this kind of thing going on at eBay all the time; it's a real shame.

Re:3 Living Strings & Living Voices LPs to be released on CD!

I asked her about it again a few weeks ago and she said she "still hopes" to acquire the tracks from RCA, but can't say "when or how." Regrettably, it appears to me that she has not made this a top priority, which is unfortunate -- not just for us, but especially for her because this is part of her own father's legacy.

Therefore, I invite you and everyone reading this post to send her an email and let her you know how you feel about the release of these two great tracks. Unless pressure is brought to bear, I highly doubt it will ever happen.

By the way, for anyone who doesn't know the tracks in question, they are Christmas Eve In My Hometown and Flying Home For Christmas. Johnny Douglas recorded these two songs on July 11, 1977 for a 45-rpm single (catalog #PB-11155) that RCA released later that year. Side A of the single was Christmas Eve In My Hometown and Side B was Flying Home For Christmas. Then, the next year, in 1978, RCA included both songs on the compilation LP The Most Beautiful Sounds Of Christmas. Unfortunately, these two songs were not added as bonus tracks in last year's Dulcima Records CD release. Click here, in case you haven't seen it.

If you'd like to see these songs back in print, please let Norma know that you'd like to see them added to the current Dulcima CD as bonus tracks. Here's how to contact her
