Hi Chip,

I'm having trouble reading the text in Chip's Tips (Edition #19), because the right side of the text is cropped.

Here's what it looks like:

I'm wondering if the problem is with my browser (Firefox Quantum 60.9.0esr 32-bit).  Do you see that same cropping when you look at that message with your browser?

Will,

Someone else had mentioned this to me in a private email a few days ago. And after checking, I have the same problem myself in certain browsers.

For me, it displays properly in Firefox, Chrome and AOL. But it does not display properly in Explorer, Opera, Vivaldi and Maxthon.

Try using your other browsers and see if it works.

I just tried viewing it in Chrome, but had the same problem:  the text is still cropped along the right margin.

So I tried an experiment:

I selected all the text that appeared in in the post, copied it, and then pasted it into the Notepad text editor.

And voilà!  All of the missing text at the right margin magically appeared!

P.S.  Is there a way to make the text of contributors' names appear in darker type.  My aging eyballs have a hard time making out the names that appear to the left of contributors' posts.  Like RichD's name in the screenshot below:

Glad to hear it, Will. It's a shame you had to go through all that trouble to read the post. It's definitely an Aimoo issue, which hopefully will get resolved soon.

Sorry Will, I forgot to answer your second question. Yes, there is a way to change it; but anytime you change something in the control panel it can adversely affect something else. So I'll have to consult with Aimoo before I attempt to do anything.

Thanks, Chip!

My word choice could have been better.  I guess I should have asked to have contributor's names appear "brighter" rather than "darker."   Duh!

Sorry Will, but still no resolution yet with Aimoo on the font color change for the username field.

My customized Christmas skin for the Yule Log message board was grandfathered in after the conversion to the new Aimoo last year. And I'm concerned that if I change something, it will corrupt my other customized skin settings.

I designed this exclusive Christmas skin many years ago and don't want to jeopardize it. But if Aimoo can assure me that there's a way to safely make the change, then I'll do it.
