Server Usage and Migration

So it looks like the forums are massively using server resources.

I'm afraid that the host may close down the site soon. So I think I'm going to migrate to Tapatalk to host the forums. That may mean the forums will go down here and there or there may be intermittent access.

I'll do all my best to keep it as smooth as possible, but a lot of it will be out of my hands.

So sorry to cause any undue worry.

I've been having issues for some time with my hosting. The forums have grown large over the 15 years that they've been up and running. Often the site is slowed down by bots (often legitimate ones, though sometimes malicious) crawling the site. That causes my resource usage to spike and the host sends warnings or takes the site down. Or they offer to move me to a much more expensive tier.

I decided to move the forums off site to a third party (kind of like what Chip does here at Aimoo). Then I had to adjust the domain info so that the forums can show up at the falalalala.com address. It often takes several days for those changes to work their way through the internet's indexing system. Thus the delay.

But everything's up and running. The forums are technically located offsite but have a FaLaLaLaLa address to access them.

The new address is https://fireside.falalalala.com. Login and password information should still be the same. But if you have any problems feel free to contact me ([email protected]).
