I have a copy on my Ipod from a CD that sounds exactly like the one we all know and love. Question: was this LP remixed at some point in time? The previous owner wrote 11-24-62 on back of sleeve. Thanks for any info you could provide. Henry

The definitive version of this classic and legendary album is the 1958 recording (catalog #PS-142). It's not only superior technologically because of the stereo, but artistically as well because of Monty's perfected arrangements. This is the version that I got reissued on CD for the first time in 2009; and reissued again this year in 2016. It's one of my most proud accomplishments. I have the 2009 CD, but have started to build up my vinyl collection once again and when I saw the Mantovani LP I pounced on it, obviously not realizing that this was the mono version. I will have to find a clean copy of the 1958 stereo version.
