Date Posted:10/06/2016 01:46:13Copy HTML Chip, Is there a complete Christmas recordings of Chet Atkins and Floyd Cramer in the pipeline anytime soon? There are several songs Floyd and Chet recorded that were released on compilation albums that would be nice to include in a "complete Christmas recordings" album of Floyd Cramer and Chet Atkins. Thanks! Jim |

Re:Chet Atkins Floyd Cramer Date Posted:10/06/2016 05:34:23Copy HTML No there isn't, Jim; but perhaps sometime down the line. Funny you should mention Chet and Floyd together, because their Christmas albums rank back-to-back at #91 and #92 in my Top 500. Lawrence F. "Chip" Arcuri

Thanks Chip! I would venture to guess that both of those albums by Chet and Floyd were recorded at the RCA Studio B in Nashville. Jim |

Re:Chet Atkins Floyd Cramer Date Posted:10/07/2016 02:22:28Copy HTML Yes indeed Jim, both albums were recorded there; but bear in mind that when Chet recorded his album at the studio in 1961, it was still known as Nashville Sound Studio. It was only after RCA opened Studio A in March of 1965 did Nashville Sound Studio become known simply as Studio B. By the way, Ethel (Gabriel) has told me many a story of how she worked tirelessly with her boss Steve Sholes (Executive A&R VP of RCA Records), Chet Atkins and Nashville businessman Dan Maddox to conceive and build this innovative and groundbreaking studio in 1956. It is now a National Historical Site and has never been eclipsed in fame and legend by its younger, albeit bigger, sibling, Studio A. Lawrence F. "Chip" Arcuri
