Alzheimer's took the life of beloved crossover pop/country superstar Glen Campbell on Tuesday.

As evidenced by my Avatar photo the past few years, Glen's "That Christmas Feeling" LP/CD was in my Christmas Top 10, along with the great Percy Faith, Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Stu Philips/Hollyridge Strings, Johnny Douglas/Living Strings, Ferrante & Teicher, and Bert Kaempfert.

Glen was an unbelievably-good, fantastic guitar player, and had a decent voice to go along with great lyrics from Jimmy Webb and Al Delory's production at Captiol records.

To Glen's family- peace.

John

Hello John,

Yes indeed, Glen's Christmas album That Christmas Feeling was a very beautiful contribution to the country-pop sound that he and AL De Lory had perfected so well on his previous hit albums.  I remember well it was the only "new" Christmas album that my parents bought to go along with Merry Christmas by Johnny Mathis with the great Percy Faith orchestrations and John Klein's A Christmas Sound Spectacular, which my dad always referred to as his "Bells' record, that were the true staples of their holiday play.  I like your top ten list as well, John, very well chosen and all those albums you listed are part of my collection as well.  Campbell was a once in a lifetime singer-guitar player extraordinaire! Real Gone Music did a great job putting that album together with his other Christmas gems that he recorded while at Capital records a couple years ago.  I highly recommend that collection to our members on Chip's board.

Best regards,

Steve

We were lucky enough to see him twice on the final tour. Love that album as well.

Still one of my all-time favorite Christmas albums - I had this as a kid when it was originally released.
First concert I ever went to was Glen Campbell back in 1969 here in NJ at the Garden State Arts Center - I was 8 years old ! Caught him here in Jersey on his last two tours - there was NO WAY I could've missed those shows.
