How many different recordings of "Auld Lang Syne" did Guy Lombardo make? I know of the following releases, but am not sure if they are all different or not:

1939 - St. Louis Blues / Auld Lang Syne (10" single, Decca 2478)

1947 - Auld Lang Syne / Home on the Range (10" single, Decca 24260)

1953 - Auld Lang Syne / Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight (7" single, Decca 9-28905)

1956 - Guy Lombardo in Hi-Fi (LP, Capitol W-738)

1961 - New Year's Eve with Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians (LP, Decca DL 74177)

The only corrections I'd have to make to your list are the following:

First, in addition to the 7" 45-rpm single (catalog #9-28905), Decca Records also released the 1953 recording as a 10" 78-rpm disc as well: catalog #28905 (the same catalog number as the 7" 45-rpm disc only without the "9" prefix).

Second, in addition to the 12" LP release of Guy Lombardo In Hi-Fi (catalog #W-738), Capitol Records also released the 1956 recording as a 7" 45-rpm single as well (with the B-Side being "Enjoy Yourself"): catalog #6206.

Wow, I didn't realize I hit it so close to the mark! I figured some of those would be reissues of the same recordings and there would probably be half a dozen or so more that I overlooked. Thanks for the help, Chip. Your knowledge of this stuff never ceases to amaze me.

Ernie shared a promo version that Lombardo did for Rheingold Beer in 1958.

From his post:

As the US counts down to the new year, I wanted to give you a short little present from 61 years ago.  This is a New Year's jingle from the makers

of Rheingold Beer and Miss Rheingold 1958, Madelyn Darrow!  Music is provided by the king of New Year's Eve, Guy Lombardo.  The jingle is

repeated three times on the 12" ruby red vinyl I found, so I put it in the folder three times.  Each one starts out with the same bit of noise under

the intro, so that must have been on the master they dubbed from.  Not too bad, but noticeable.  Have a happy New Year and enjoy Guy Lombardo

And His Royal Canadians With Miss Rheingold 1958 Madelyn Darrow-Liebmann Breweries, Inc.-Rheingold Beer "Auld Lang Syne" (Reeves Sound

Studios, Inc. 12" 1-sided 12" Clear Red Vinyl Transcription disc, RS 906 RHR 378, Mono, 1957).

2. Rheingold Beer-Auld Lang Syne 2

3. Rheingold Beer-Auld Lang Syne 3
